The Parent Company won the 2015 AGC Build TN Award in the Building Renovation ($0-$10 Million) Category for the work at Video Gaming Technologies’ Corporate Headquarters Phase II Renovations.

Video Gaming Technologies, Inc. is a casino gaming company based in Middle Tennessee. The rapidly growing company hired The Parent Company and Thomas Miller & Partners to convert an existing warehouse into a modern office space for VGT’s Franklin headquarters. The design-build project included the construction of a structural mezzanine, new HVAC system, upgraded electrical distribution with emergency generator, expanded fire protection system, new server room, product testing labs, toilet rooms, catered dining lounge, offices, conference rooms, all structured cabling for over 300 work stations. The fast-track project allowed for VGT to successfully relocate their Virginia employees to the new Franklin office.

On the surface, the 16,000 sf renovation may not appear to be more than a standard interior build out. However, due to the phasing requirements and site conditions, this project turned in to a complex project with many challenges along the way. From working around an active data center to completely reworking the exterior skin, maintaining the daily operations of the facility was a priority. The Parent Company worked closely with VGT to coordinate the phased movement of employees while scheduling the work around these phasing requirements. This flexibility and planning was key to the success of this renovation.
