Award Winning Vision Building

The Parent Company is proud to announce that it has been named AGC of Middle Tennessee’s General Contractor of the Year with Clark Construction for their joint venture work at Vanderbilt’s Engineering and Science Building. The Parent Company also won Awards of Excellence for their work at Vanderbilt’s Engineering and Science Building and Williamson County’s Public Safety Center, and an Award of Merit for their work at Belle Meade Country Club’s Turf Care Maintenance Facility. The Associated General Contractors present the Build Tennessee Awards to honor general contractors that have completed projects with skill, integrity, and responsibility. Projects are judged by out-of-state AGC members who do not have offices in middle Tennessee.

Each of these award-winning projects were built in response to the unique and changing needs of the communities they serve. Vanderbilt’s Engineering & Science Building

General Contractor of the Year | Award of Excellence for New Construction Under $90M

Vanderbilt University planned for a building that would foster innovation and teamwork across multiple disciplines began in 2012. Construction of the Engineering & Science Building started in the summer of 2014, and was open for classes in August of 2016.

The 230,000 sf academic and research building features seven stories, two below grade levels, includes several specialized spaces including chemistry, biology, computational laboratories, and 12,000 sf of class 100 Clean Room Space. A two-story atrium connects the new Engineering & Science Building to Vanderbilt’s landmark School of Engineering building, Olin Hall.

Williamson County’s Public Safety Center

Award of Excellence for New Construction Under $30M

After the devastation of the May 2010 Floods, Williamson County made the construction of a building capable of handling future emergencies and protecting the community a priority. The Williamson County Public Safety Task Force made up of County Government Officials, partner agencies, and private industry met for over a year and recommended that a mission driven facility be constructed to address the public safety needs of the fast growing community.

The Public Safety Center fulfilled six critical needs for Williamson County: an Emergency Operations Center, Emergency Communications Center, training space, disaster recovery, continuity of operations, and administrative space for the Office of Public Safety.

Belle Meade Country Club’s Turf Care Maintenance Facility

Award of Merit for New Construction Under $5M

Belle Meade Country Club decided to update its 55 year old Turf Care Maintenance Facility in 2015. Work was performed in the middle of Belle Meade Country Club’s golf course and included the construction of four separate buildings; an equipment storage building, fueling/wash down island, a maintenance and office building, and a chemical mixing and storage building. In order to accommodate the construction of the 18,000 sf facility, all new water, sewer, and power utilities

were brought to the site.
