The State of Tennessee needed to renovate and expand the North Data Center, an existing data center in Nashville, TN. The Parent Company was selected to provide preconstruction and construction services. This renovation included the replacement of fire suppression systems and power distribution units, renovation of administrative areas to accommodate new personnel, modifications to mechanical systems, and security upgrades.

The Parent Company was in constant contact and coordination with building management and State personnel for scheduled shutdowns and change orders. Construction personnel had to be escorted at all times in secure areas. This required timely coordination and detailed schedule review on a weekly basis. The project was completed successfully in phased completions.

  • Operational Data Center Working in and on an active data center required constant communication and coordination with the building managers. The Data Center never went offline which required The Parent Company to come up with creative solutions to replace electrical components. Data Center security also required that construction personnel be escorted in certain areas.
  • Schedule Restrictions In order to keep the Data Center in operation, The Parent Company and our subcontractors had to work on holidays and non-traditional hours.
