St. Ignatius Orthodox Church in Franklin, TN hired The Parent Company to manage the phased construction of the fellowship hall extension and sanctuary. Each phase of the project had vastly different scopes. The 4,500 sf fellowship hall extension was a long corridor with new offices, restrooms, and storage that connected the existing fellowship hall, existing sanctuary and the new sanctuary. The 6,000 sf new sanctuary was a complex design which mirrored classical church design. The sanctuary featured a large nave, side aisles and a grand dome at the nave and transept. The final product was a clean finish which the church has since decorated with Russian iconography. Its ornate finish is a site to behold.

  • Tight Site The addition was built in very close proximity to the active church and required careful coordination to keep the congregation safe.
  • Dome Construction & Iconography In addition, the main cupola dome of the structure had to be built to withstand the weather and test of time. The dome interior surfaces have been painted by church iconagraphers with dramatic artwork telling the story of the orthodox tradition.
