Middle Tennessee State University, part of the Tennessee Board of Regents, is a public university located in Murfreesboro, TN. The university’s College of Media and Entertainment provides students with hands-on experience in mass communications with their student-run newspaper, radio station, cable channel, and record label. Renovations to the Bragg Mass Comm Building included the construction of the Center for Innovation in Media which would allow students from all media disciplines to work under the same roof in a state-of-the-art facility.
The Parent Company worked with TBR, Bauer Askew and MTSU on this interior renovation project which involved removing the existing offices and classrooms in the Mass Communication Building in order to build the Center for Innovation in Media. The Parent Company built the space out into the existing lobby giving students a view of the two soundproof studios and the central laboratory which is highlighted by its elliptical floor plan. The bulk of this work was performed while students were on campus.
